Beth Ehlers first joined the cast of Guiding Light in September 1987, as Harley Davidson Cooper. After departing from the show in 1993, Ehlers returned in May 1997. Ehlers is the recipient of four Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including one in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

Ehlers was born in Queens, NY and raised on Long Island until the age of nine. She then moved to Roosevelt Island and attended Manhattan's Satellite Academy, where she was able to concentrate on pursuing an acting career. After a year at Syracuse University, Ehlers was offered the role of Harley on Guiding Light.

During her hiatus from the show, Ehlers worked in Los Angeles as a production assistant on commercials and music videos. After a brief return to Guiding Light for the show's 60th anniversary celebration (January 1997), Ehlers was asked to return to the show on a permanent basis.

Ehlers has done a variety of television and radio commercials and numerous voice-overs. Film credits include The Hunger with David Bowie and Hiding Out with Jon Cryer. Television appearances include Family Reunion with Bette Davis, In Defense of Kids with Blythe Danner and Sam Waterson, Mother May I, and Mystery on Fire Island. She also was a series regular on the NBC show Best Times.

Ehlers and her husband, Matthew, a sports video editor, were married on March 22, 1996. They are the proud parents of Henry (b. 5/21/99) and Will (b. 7/16/01). The couple resides in New Jersey with their sons and two dogs.

Ehlers' birthday is July 23.
